Icelandic Roving - 4 oz minimum order
Icelandic Roving consist mostly of Thel (very soft undercoat) with some Tog - (medium weight outer coat) unlike most commercially available Icelandic roving which are mostly tog (pretty coarse hand). We skirt off the britch and belly wool and parts of the fleece that have lots of hay/vm - keeping softness in mind for the final result in our roving. Icelandic roving is a good one for beginning spinners as it drafts more easily than super fine fleeces or Top. No chemical processing is used on our roving, only natural products. Roving from Icelandic Sheep is one of the best for felting - excellent for all felter's projects. Roving is what felters use for felting wool.
Wonderful for spinning, felting or craft projects!

DOLCE FARM ICELANDIC SHEEP PELTS -SOLD OUT New batch arriving soon- contact us for more information. Future pelts will be listed on the new Pelt page
Icelandic Lamb pelts, Shearling and Adult Sheep Pelts - All pelts tanned to be washable.
Contact us if you would like to receive an e-mail when we list new pelts. Annie@Dolcefarm.com
All of our Icelandic sheep pelts are professionally tanned to be washable. Some pelts occasionally have a small dime or nickel size hole which does not affect the the strength of the pelt. Price does not include postage - when we calculate postage we will also include insurance and delivery confirmation. Width is measured at widest part of pelt (including fleece), length from top of neck to the bottom (including fleece). Icelandic pelts are great for chair or couch cushions, rugs, wall hanging, meditation rugs, leather/fleece/fly tying/craft projects, birthday or wedding presents, a most comforting gift.
Unlike commercially available sheep pelts - sheepskins, our Icelandic Pelts are tanned to be washable and do not need to be dry cleaned- the tannery suggests the following instructions for washing pelts -1- Rinse with cool water. 2- Wash with Woolite® in warm water on gentle cycle for 3 minutes. 3- Rinse in warm water (twice). Allow to go through spin cycles. Air dry, then brush if needed. 4- Dry in dryer set at 120° - or- air dry then put in dryer to fluff (with no heat). As the pelt dries, it may need some stretching. All Icelandic pelts - sheepskins are from our own Oregon Icelandic sheep flock and tanned professionally in the USA.
