2008 Icelandic Lambs

Our darling lambs have arrived! So many beautiful colors and patterns! Icelandic Lambs 2008 Waiting List - contact us if you are interested. More information on our 2008 Lambs page.

We have chosen Icelandic Sheep because of all their beautiful colors and patterns, they thrive on pasture and good grass hay and alfalfa, medium sized, tendency to twin, wonderful fleeces for spinning, lean, delicious mild tasting Lamb, luxurious Pelts and we are looking forward to milking our girls for making cheese and yogurt too!  We offer Icelandic Rovings, Registered Breeding StockPrize Winning Fleeces and will soon be offering Handspun Yarn from our flock.  Icelandic sheep are one of the oldest and purest breeds.  For over 1000 years they have provided fiber, meat and milk. Mature Icelandic ewes weigh 130-150 pounds, rams 180-200 lbs.. In Iceland they are primarily a meat breed. Their tails do not need docking. In North America the CLRC registers Icelandic Sheep. They are good lawn mowers as well, and we are rotating our rams and yearlings through our plum orchard pastures. They enjoy the shade the trees provide, as well as the variety of grasses, tree suckers and blackberry leaves. See our Oregon Flock and Fiber winners from 2007.

Dolce Farm and Orchards is an Oregon family farm on  50 acres. When you purchase from us you are helping a local farm family. Our main focus and passion is Icelandic Sheep!
